After a stellar collegiate career at the University of Maryland, Boomer was drafted in the second round by the Cincinnati Bengals. In the NFL Boomer was a 4x Pro Bowler, 1988 First-Team All-Pro, and 1988 NFL MVP. Following his playing days Boomer became a succesful NFL broadcaster.
